Love & Hip Hop New York Season 5 – Episode 3 Recap

Can someone let me know if I’m the only person on Earth that’s watching Love & Hip Hop New York Season 5? I thought it would be cool to live tweet during episode 3 and I was greeted with crickets. Normally when I tweet, I’m interacting with people, I’m retweeting other’s comments, conversing about the drama and messiness of the characters etc. But tonight, it was like I was trapped in the Bermuda Triangle by my damn self. If there’s a boycott on this show that I don’t know about can somebody let me know so I don’t waste my time and end up looking like an utter fool on Twitter? Thank ya kindly!
Welp, since I sat through an hour of this train wreck, I might as well give y’all a brief recap…
The episode continues with Amina catching Peter Gunz in the act as he has lunch with his ex, Tara, and their two sons. Peter takes Amina around the corner to get her to calm down.
Amina starts crying hysterically and she can’t believe that Peter has chosen Tara over her.  What did Amina expect when she married a man that has multiple kids all over the tri-state area? She needs to just accept the fact that she will never come first in his life.

Amina sits on the curb and is crying her little heart out so Peter leaves (what a great husband he is). Tara thinks that as a woman, she needs to check up on Amina to make sure she is okay.  Amina asks Tara why doesn’t she just get back with Peter. It’s obvious that they still have feelings for each other.
Amina seems like a decent person and it sucks that she has inserted herself into this mess.

Okay, this is the second time that Yandy Smith’s random cousin Maurice has been featured on the show. Is he going to have a story line at some point or will he just occasionally pop up on the screen and make somebody do push-ups?

Mendeecees Harris confronts his fiance, Yandy, about the change she has gone through. You see, when Mendeecees was in jail, Yandy was busy getting a breast lift and taking backshots on the ‘Gram. Mendeecees thinks that Yandy should be dressing more appropriately now that he’s back home. I’m gonna have to side with my man Mandookie on this one. Yandy is a mother and is supposedly getting married soon. Why does she feel the need to show her cheeks to thousands of people online?
This scene reminded me of the rumor I heard online about Yandy conceiving her unborn child while Mendeecees was in jail. Maybe that would explain why she looked pregnant when she picked him up from jail.
Lawd, not these two again…Erica Mena meets up with Cyn Santana to discuss their relationship. To be honest, I can’t even remember what these two were chirping about.

Erica mentioned something about Cyn sleeping with dudes, and Cyn blew up.

The ladies (term used loosely) stand up to beef eye to eye and Erica hits Cyn. YES, she actually hit her in the damn face. If Erica was a man, the whole interwebs would be screaming abuse, but since it’s two chicks fighting, I guess everyone is okay with the situation *shrugs*

Amina’s baby is underweight due to stress and Peter asks her, “Why are you so stressed?” Are you kidding me Peter? She’s stressed over your raggedy paynus! Peter says to alleviate the stress, he will start coming home every night. Um, really? Shouldn’t you be coming home to your wife every night anyway? This relations is so loco to me.

Cisco Rosado meets up with his mom to let her know that it’s her fault that he doesn’t trust women.  Cisco’s mom stayed with an abusive man and was too concerned with getting her own life together that she neglected Cisco while he was growing up.
His mom apologizes and tells him that it’s time for him to let Diamond Strawberry into his life and let down his emotional gate.  Cisco thinks that now is the right time to be upfront with Diamond and let her know about his “6-month-year-old” son.

Tara meets up with Yandy to tell her about the trip she, her kids, and Peter have planned to go to Barbados. Yandy tells Tara that Barbados is a romantic location and not suitable for kids. Yandy also thinks Tara’s a dummy for agreeing to go on this trip with Peter.

Yandy and her hideous shoes want to show Mendeecees just how much she loves him so the couple decides to get tattoos.

Yandy gets Mendeecees name tattooed on her ring finger (when’s the damn wedding?)
And Mendeecees got Yandy’s name on his forearm. *Yawn* matching tattoos are so 2005. I’d rather see these two with matching wedding bands.

It’s the day of Amina’s baby shower and Erica Mena is nervous to see Cyn again after their altercation.

Cyn shows up and Erica immediately apologizes to her. She tries to work her magic to get Cyn to take her back once again, but Cyn isn’t feeling it this time around. She thinks that Erica is a big liar (she is) and she can’t trust her. In other news, Cyn is legit dating a man now y’all. They spent New Years Eve together. I’ll make a post about it later this week.

Cisco throws a party for Diamond at a club to welcome her to New York. He also buys bottles of alcohol for everyone in the club.
Cisco pulls Diamond to the side and tells her that he had no right to get mad about her hiding her daughter from him because he has a “6-month-year-old” son that he’s been hiding. Cisco had the baby with a lady that he had already fathered one child with.  To make things even worse, the baby was conceived when he was dating Diamond. Diamond immediately goes ape shyt when she hears the news, but we have to wait until next week’s episode to see how the rest of this story unfolds.
What did you think of this week’s episode of Love & Hip Hop New York? Am I the only one watching the series? Please comment below and let me know if you’ve been tuning in to the show this season!
