Real Housewives of Atlanta Episode 5 Recap: Friend or Faux

We’ve made it to episode 5 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. I hope you all enjoy this episode recap!
Friend or Faux
Cynthia Bailey’s mom and sister came to visit for the weekend and Cynthia gives them the 411 on her issues with that moose Nene Leakes. Cynthia is pretty much done with the friendship and is tired of Nene doing interviews about her. What do you think? Should Nene and Cynthia reconcile?

How beautiful did Cynthia look in that shot above? Werk, muva!

Nene’s son Brent is really growing up fast! He’s learning how to drive and Gregg Leakes came prepared for the driving lessons with full body gear. I like the way Brent didn’t care and put the pedal to the metal of Nene and Gregg’s Range Rover.
Kandi Burruss and her zygote husband Todd Tucker go check on the house that Mama Joyce was previously living in. When they walked in, they found the home in complete shambles. It looked like someone watched too much HGTV, got gassed up about some DIY projects, and just went ham at the local Home Depot, buying a whole bunch of stuff they didn’t know how to use. There was demolished toilets, tiles missing on the floor, light fixtures hanging by a thread, pretty much, the house was looking a hot azz unlivable mess. Apparently, Mama Joyce’s boyfriend was to blame for the House Hunters Renovation special gone wrong.
In comes Todd to put his .02 cents into the situation. He tells Kandi that she shouldn’t be rewarding her mom by buying her a brand new house. Mama Joyce can walk around with her funky attitude, say what she wants to say about his mother Ms. Sharon, and Kandi keeps footing the bill for her lifestyle.
Kandi has got herself into some mess, but it’s kind of hard to cut her mom off at this point.
Instead of confronting Mama Joyce about her home being tore up, what does Kandi do? She goes and runs her mouth to her Aunts. Smh, I told y’all that Kandi is the one to always start some mess, right?
The home and what goes on in the home is her business, but why does she feel the need to put Mama Joyce’s business on front street like that? Call me crazy, but I think Kandi was foul for that.
You know Ms. Joyce wanted to beat her daughter and her sisters azzes after watching that scene.
Kandi stops by Phaedra Park’s house for some chips and guacamole. Phaedra is looking good, isn’t she? She dropped that zero and gained a bangin’ body. I aint mad at that.
Kandi tells Phaedra that she wants to get all of the ladies together to discuss their issues, resolve their problems, and move forward. Phaedra agrees to show up but you know she’s not trying to resolve nothing with Kenya Moore.
Claudia Jordan meets up with Kenya at the gym and they discuss Claudia’s tragic mulatto upbringing. Kenya and Claudia connect because both of them have “aint shyt” mothers in common. As I was watching this scene, I kept thinking to myself, “What the hayle is the point of this?” Seriously though, I’m not getting how Claudia fits into the show. She’s not very entertaining, she’s not a housewife, and she’s not even relatively wealthy. Casting fail!

All of the ladies (minus Claudia) meet up at a restaurant to try to mend their relationships. Kenya was expecting an apology from Phaedra, but Phaedra pays her dust. You know these two will never be friends.
Next up is Cynthia and Nene.  Cynthia is trying to speak her mind and as usual, Nene is bulldozing the entire conversation. Nene says she was a good friend to Cynthia and she wasn’t sure where their relationship went left. Nene thought that calling Peter a bytch wasn’t really a big deal and should not have ended their friendship. Um, horse teef say what?

Poor delusional azz Nene. No one wants to be your friend because you’re a self-centered brat!
On the next episode of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, it looks like Cynthia turns soft and agrees to be friends with Nene again. Smh. Cynthia, when will you learn that Nene is not a good look for you? She even said it herself, her life and her marriage have been better with Nene out of the picture. For some reason, I think she likes having the title of being the bff of Nene “The Star” and since their relationship is on the outs, she is no longer reaping the benefits of Nene’s star power. What do you think?

What are your thoughts on this week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta?
